Natural or Matte Finish
The natural look sealer that we typically use is call SEK Surebond. It is a water based sealer and is environmentally safe. This sealer gives your pavers a natural look which highlights the color of the stone that was originally installed. It’s a high-quality, joint stabilizing sealer that penetrates the sand joints to ensure that they harden up in between the pavers to prevent weed growth and paver shift over time. When we use this in conjunction with polymeric sand it provides for a beautiful finish. We offer different options for the color of the sand to fit the motif of your paver patio. We offer tan, black, or grey sand options.
Wet Look Paver Patio
The second look that we can offer for patios is the wet or glossy look. The sealer that we typically use for this is Masonry Defender. This joint stabilizing sealer will ensure that all the poly sand properly hardens up in between the joints and that the patio has a top notch wet look that will impress your friends and family.
I have Efflorescence on my patio. Can it be removed?
The answer is yes. Efflorescence is that chalky white look that you can see leaching out of bricks sometimes. You will notice it on brick buildings and sometimes on your brick pavers. This basically happens when there is salt present within the porous brick. When the brick is soaked with water on a regular basis that salt and calcium will come to the surface and leave staining onto the brick. How Long Should Concrete Cure Before Sealing?
If your concrete is new, we recommend letting it cure completely before professionally cleaning and sealing it. In most cases, concrete can take anywhere from 6 to 24 months to cure before applying concrete sealant. Most concrete installers will place a cure and seal product on your poured concrete driveway upon completion. We will not high pressure wash any new concrete. If the concrete is newer (18 months or less) then we will softwash it and seal with the appropriate sealer upon completion. If the concrete is older then 18 months then we can use our surface cleaner to properly clean the concrete and then seal the surface afterwards.
How Long Does It Take Concrete Sealant to Dry?
Most concrete sealant is dry to the touch within a few hours. However, we recommend keeping hot tires off of your driveway for at least 12 hours. When it comes to stamped and paver patios we recommend staying off of them for 12 to 24 hours.
